Reset your body with a Primal Session. A two-hour long session in which you will learn how to get your body back to how it should be and how it is supposed to move.

Why take a Primal Session?

Our ancestors had to survive in nature for hundreds of thousands of years. They had to work hard to find food and shelter. Their bodies were build exactly for the movements they had to make.

Our environment has changed rapidly over the last thousand years. Our bodies have not had enough time to evolve to keep up with these changes.

All of a sudden, we are sitting on chairs, we wear shoes, we don’t move a lot, we go to the gym instead of continuously moving our bodies, we only move on flat surfaces, we sit endlessly behind our computers or look down at our smartphones, we cycle and drive cars.

All these activities are normal for this modern environment, but aren’t normal for your body.

OUR BODY IS NOT MADE TO LIVE IN THIS MODERN AGE

Your body is made out of millions of cells. These cells make up your physical structure. The way these cells are stacked determine the shape of your body. How these cells are shaping your physique is partly caused by genetics. You’re simply born with a long pointy nose or with short legs.

However, the other half that decides your physical structure is the way you have used your body your entire life.

That is to say, your body adjusts its parts exactly to what you do, each moment of the day. Your muscles, bones, tendons, joints, blood vessels and nerves want to facilitate what you do. They don’t want to waste any unnecessary energy.

ALL PARTS OF YOUR BODY ADJUST PERFECTLY TO HOW YOU USE YOUR BODY

This is how:

  • some muscles grow stronger or weaker and also become longer or shorter.
  • bones change their shape and become stronger or weaker.
  • joints will move differently and their quality changes.
  • blood vessels will develop where they are needed.
  • nerves will become better or worse at passing on information.

HOW DO WE USE OUR BODY? HOW DOES THIS AFFECT OUR PHYSIQUE?

  • We sit a lot in chairs. This will cause our knee flexors and hip flexors to shorten. These shortened muscles pull at your joints differently all of a sudden. They change your stance, they alter your walking pattern. Your joints will become overcharged. Your body will tell you it is in pain.
  • We wear shoes, we don’t walk much and in particular we mainly move over flat surfaces. Your feet, the base of your body, change. Your foot joints become tight and muscles become short and weak. Your body will compensate by adjusting your posture and use of muscle.
  • The lack of really fully moving your shoulders really impacts how your body functions. Tight shoulders pull on your ribcage, and through your ribcage pull on your pelvis. Your abdominal muscles will function in a different manner and your posture changes.
  • To sit still the entire day and let your workout be your only form of exercise, is actually quite difficult for your body. Your blood vessels will adjust and optimise to a state in which you are not moving. Once you then start moving intensively, they will have a hard time adjusting.

OUR MOVING HABITS DIFFER GREATLY TO THAT FROM OUR ANCESTORS

Your body parts develop in a way that is often not positive for the functioning of your body.

Complaints of injuries and pain are a logical result.

HOW DO YOU RETURN TO YOUR ORIGINAL BODY, YOUR PRIMAL BODY?

There has been a ton of research on how your body is ‘supposed’ to be when it’s in tip-top shape.

What your natural posture should be. What your walking pattern should be. What the ideal lengths of your muscles are. Which movements you should do on a daily basis, to shape your body in an optimal way.

TO OPTIMALLY SHAPE YOUR BODY AND OPTIMALLY FUNCTION IN A FIT AND HEALTHY WAY

Reset your body with a Primal Session. A two-hour long session, in which you will learn how to take your body back to how it is supposed to be and should move.

IN A PRIMAL SESSION YOU’LL LEARN:

  • How strong is my foundation?
  • What steps do I take to get an optimally fit and healthy body?
  • How is my body shaped by my movements?
  • What is my natural posture?
  • Are the length of my muscles functional and how are they “supposed” to be?
  • How do the length of my muscles affect my posture and moving ability?
  • What can I do to reduce my complaints?
  • Really understand what is happening in your body, explained in layman’s terms.

A Primal Session lasts 2 hours and costs 125 euros. (This includes a detailed plan for you to use to work on your body).

Linde Logtenberg

Linde Logtenberg is a specialist in the field of ancestral movement (how our bodies naturally should be able to move). Through her years of experience as a physiotherapist, she is able to see the logical connection between injury complaints and our modern way of using our bodies.

She’ll help you understand in simple terms what is really going on with your body.

“I kept having health issues. Aching calves, knee ache, a sore back and heel spur. Then I went to Linde. She could finally tell me what the real issues were for all my complaints and injuries. Through recuperating exercises and changes in my physical lifestyle, I haven’t had any complaints for the last year and a half.”  Tim (32), Freelancer, about ‘Natuurlijk Gezond’s primal sessions.

PEOPLE OFTEN TRY TO FIND SOLUTIONS FOR THEIR COMPLAINTS BY LOOKING AT THEM WITH OUR MODERN PERSPECTIVES. HOWEVER, OUR BODY IS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD. WE ARE NOT BUILD FOR MOVING IN THIS MODERN WORLD.
